Back up and sync with iCloud
Your training doesn't only live on one phone anymore. Turn on iCloud backup and your programme, your sessions and your Tracker history are kept safe in your own private iCloud and stay in sync across your devices. It's your iCloud — Strathlon never sees it — and it's entirely your choice whether to switch it on.
What it does
With iCloud backup on, Strathlon quietly keeps a copy of your data in your personal iCloud account and mirrors it between your devices. Log a session on your iPhone at the gym and it's already there when you open the app again later — even if you're on a new iPhone. Nothing is uploaded to a Strathlon server along the way — the data goes straight into your own iCloud, where only you can reach it.
It's off until you turn it on
Backup is off by default. Strathlon doesn't move any of your data off your device until you decide it should. When you're ready, you turn it on in your settings — that's the moment you opt in, and you can turn it back off whenever you like.
What syncs, and what never does
When it's on, these are backed up and kept in sync across your devices:
- Your programme. The plan you're following, wherever you are in it.
- Your sessions. The training you've logged.
- Your Tracker history. Your record over time.
One thing is deliberately left out. Your cycle data stays on your device and is never backed up or shared — not to iCloud, not to us, not anywhere. That's a hard privacy rule with no exceptions, and it holds whether backup is on or off.
A new phone, or a fresh install
This is where it earns its keep. Get a new iPhone, or delete and reinstall the app, and you don't start from scratch. Sign in with the same Apple ID and the first screen offers Welcome back — one tap restores your profile, programme progress, Tracker history, saved meal plans, schedule and holiday breaks. Prefer a clean slate? Choose Start fresh and nothing is restored — your iCloud copy is left untouched.
iCloud backup and sync is part of the premium tier. If you'd like the detail on how your data is handled, our Privacy page spells it out, and the User guide walks you through turning it on.
